Kalivia
Is a small typical Greek village only 1 km from the sea and Limenaria.
No real tourism here, only some foreigners who own a house there. Living amongst the Greeks. Experience the Greek life taking a seat at one of the kafeneions for an ouzo, still served with the traditional mezedes (snacks).
In the village you find everything for daily shopping: supermarket,
2 bakeries and a butcher. On the road to Limenaria there is a bigger supermarket. Also there are a few taverns.
Kalivia is beautiful and has many olive and pine trees, and is surrounded by hills and mountains where it is lovely to hike.

Limenaria
Is the second capital of the island and an ideal tourist place with a long beach, a boulevard and a small harbor, from here you can arrange boat trips.
Here you can enjoy many restaurants in front of the sea, cafes and music bars.
Of course it has all kind of shops, bakeries, butchers and supermarkets, and there are plenty of places to rent a car, jeep, motorbike and bicycle.
In Limenaria you can also find the post office, a bank, 2 ATM's and a inter-net cafe.

Trypiti
Trypiti is not a village but a bay with crystal clear water and a beautiful sandy beach, surrounded by hills with pine trees. Because of the wonderful surrounding a couple of hotels and apartments are built here. But also a few restaurants. For shopping you need to go to Limenaria (only 3 km). There is a bus stop near House Athos.

Beaches
In the centre of Limenaria, close to the harbor and terraces, there is a small sandy beach.
At the edge of the village, from the hotel boulevard (west of the centre) you can find a 2 km long sand/pebbles beach.
More westwards is the beautiful sandy beach of Trypiti with pine trees down to the beach.
East of Limenaria, behind the hill with the Palataki, is Metallia Beach. A nice hidden bay with a sand/shingle beach and many rocks around the perimeter of the beach making it ideal for snorkeling.
More eastwards you find the beautuful sandy beach of Pefkari.
In Potos along the boulevard there is a beach which stretches eastwards all the way to the more quiet part of San Antonio beach.

On all these beaches you can hire sun beds and umbrellas and there are cafeterias for a drink or a meal.

Apart from these beaches there are lots of little bays, even though it is not always easy to get there.
